Corporation-The Regulations

Even if with the ever increasing number of Corporations in Eve, people can't just get up and form a corporation. The rules and regulations of each corporation may differ according to their aims and objectives, but the main laws regarding the structure of Eve Corporations are prerequisites.

Starting a Corporation

If you want to start a corporation, you will need to have the basic Corporate Management skill. In addition, you will need a good chunk of cash, roughly around 1.6 million ISK. From then on the size of your corporation will be a test of your management skills.

Races in Eve are divided on some issues, the Amarr are less than fond of the Gallenteans and the Minmatar tribes still fight for their freedom against the Amarr Empire. With the scenario in mind, if you want to be an equal opportunity employer, you will also need an ethnic relations skill.

From then on, how you run your corporation is your decision. You can make it as complex, or as simple, as you wish. If you want to have accountants, financial officers, security agents, or just about any other conceivable corporate position, you have the power to create it. What limits you might just be your pocket, or your organizational skills!

Joining a Corporation

There are two ways you can join an existing corporation. First is where you are offered a job by a corporation's recruitment officer, and you accept to become a part of that organization. Otherwise, just as in real life, you will have to do some research and job hunting, and if you find an organization that catches your eye, you'll have to send in an application.

Most organizations have a specific agenda, making money. But there are those as well that are built on moral or ideological beliefs. These can be race specific ideologies or of some other form. Getting into the corporations that limit themselves to invitation only join ups is quite a difficult task, but that's where friends in high places can give you a hand!

Corporate Wars

The Corporations in Eve are not just financial institutions, their goals are far greater. The vast Eve Universe lends itself to huge Empire building, and that's what most powerful Corps aim at.

An aspect of yielding the power of the large Corporations is their ability to declare war on each other. According to the rules governing the corporations, the declaration doesn't necessarily have to be mutual. A corporation can declare war on a total of three corporations at any give time. Once war is declared between two corporations the peace keeping CONCORD ignores any skirmishes between their members.

Though a corporation can not declare war on a fourth corporation at any given time, but this doesn't stop others from declaring war on your corporation. So basically, a corporation can find itself in a spot of bother if others declare war on it as well.

Mutual Ties

Eve is a persistent world and directly or indirectly, all the players in Eve play their role in forming the future of the Universe. Similarly, the relations between different corporations are decided by the relations between the members of the corporations. There is a gauge to show the current ties between corps. The members take this as a guide line for their individual ties with members of other corporations.
