The Caldari people were one of the founding members of the Gallentean Federation. However, things didn't work out well between the races as the Caldaris rebelled against the Gallentean Federation. The bloody war still carries its marks on the Caldari people who have since then strived to form an Empire of their own that aims to be the economic powerhouse of Eve.
The corporate capitalism of the Caldaris is depicted in the Empire's governing style. There is no single Government to run the country. Instead the Kingdom is divided between the eight powerful corporations that own 90% of the land of the Caldari Empire. The Board of Directors, comprising of the CEOs of all eight Corporations is the ruling body of the Caldari Empire.
The Empire's eight major Corporations are
The Corporations of Caldari have countless sub-corps that are always busy with their respective fields. These sub-corps range from small mining corporations to inter stellar police forces.
As is common with the corporations, the shady corps are always amid the honest ones and once a corporation is caught doing anything Illegal the whole corporation disappears and, after the matter cools down, it reappears with a new identity! The whole scenario makes it very difficult for other races to contact the Caldari Government about any irregularities as there is no central Government to report the matter to.
It is cynically said that the Caldari Corporations know the 'price' of everything and yet the 'value' of none!This very thing has been forming cracks in the unity of the Caldari Empire. The Corporations have their unique goals in front of them and the ideological differences are tearing them apart.
As things stand at the moment, the Caldari Corporations have split into three major factions that hold their ideologies high. The smaller corporations have lined up behind the more powerful corporations as well. Though the Empire is not yet in a state of war but the situation is fast escalating into a far serious one.
One of the oldest of the Caldari Corporations, the Sukuuvestaa Corporation, is commonly known as the SuVee. The size of the Sukuuvestaa Corporation is only matched in the Caldari Empire by the Kaalakiota Corporation.
The SuVee believe themselves to be the 'practical' faction in the Caldari Empire. In other words, they don't give a dime about ethics, a major part of their earnings come from shady underhanded business. They are extremely good at exploiting trade opportunities with other empires.
The smaller CBD Corporation and Nugoeihuvi Corporation (NOH) are two corporations that hold high the 'practical theory'. They have been a part of many shady business deals for quite a while now, but due to their backing by the powerful SuVee, their relations with organized crime mafias is something overlooked time and again.
The profit oriented outlook of the Sukuuvestaa Corporation has meant that the Minmatar relations with the Empire are barely on the brink of civility, as the Caldaris are responsible for selling Amarrians the technology that has allowed them to continue the slavery of the Minmatars.
The second faction is led by the Ishukone Corporation who value the exact opposite ideologies to the 'practical' ones. Assisted in their endeavors by the Hyasyoda Corporation, the 'liberals' believe in improved relations with the other empires in Eve. A free trade world with mutually beneficial business deals is their ultimate goal. As a result of their peaceful stand, they held in high respect by the CONCORD.
The third faction headed by the Kaalakiota Corporation also includes the LaiDai Corporation and the Wiyrkomi Corporation. Their ultimate goal is not trade related, instead, these patriots want to raise the standing of the Caldari Empire in the host of empires.
A major goal of the patriots is to regain the Caldari Prime, still under the Gallentean control. The more fanatic of the group call for an all out war to win their homeland back while others want to empower their military and economy so as to gain the upper hand over the Gallentean race to negotiate better for the Caldari Prime. Building an intimidating military and economy for that purpose is their first objective.
