In times of great technological advancements, some human explorers traveled through a natural wormhole to a far-flung location, farther than man could have then imagined. In fact, the exploring humans have never had a clue as to where the Eve is situated in relation to the Old World.. From the wormhole entrance to Eve, the curious settlers dispersed in all directions, exploring and conquering new lands. Hi-tech equipments and a steady legal system of the Old World provided the new settlers great backup support. Human quest to explore, form colonies and fashion their own Eve in the New World appeared seamless...until the unforeseen happened.
When things go wrong, they 'really' go wrong. Out of nowhere the wormhole gate collapsed, shattering the link between the Old and the New World. The Eve system that was already formed on a balance between greed for more and the restrictions of the Old World moralities and laws, was suddenly given a severe leg pull. The balance of the old system was totally lost; and the result was series of cataclysmic wars between the colonies for greed of power and wealth. Humans fought and slaughtered humans and only a few small colonies survived the frightening times of war and isolation.
The fight and endurance of a millions of years has resulted in the rise of five major Empires in Eve. They races are all humans, but they differ in their essence. The long enmities distanced them so much that they made it impossible for them to mix without some amount of tension. Though there are small states and federations in Eve as well, but the power balance of the Eve is controlled mainly by these Nations;
The threat of a massive inter-stellar war has deterred the Empires from engaging into serious conflicts for over a century now. The peace hasn't come without effort though, the races have worked hard for it, brushing their age old differences under the carpet and trying not to 'seem' offensive. Even expansionists, like the Amarr have curbed their instincts to forego wars to minimize risks. Yet, the breakthroughs in travel technology have opened new vast spaces for the peoples of all lands. With more interaction between the races, one wrong move on part of a Nation can tip the fragile harmony into chaos!
