The formation of the Gallentean Federation was a joint venture with the Caldaris, the Intakis and the Mannars. The latter two were primitive nations but went on to become an integral part of the Gallentean society. After the Caldari initiated civil war filled with blood and gore, the Gallenteans and their allied nations have redeveloped their Federation with their chivalrous code of conduct to lead them on.
The flag-bearers of democracy and independence in the world of EVE, the Gallenteans are a progressive race. Their oppositions see them as pompous and meddling but their allies value the Gallente Federation's belief in liberty.
The Gallente Federation is not just home to the Gallenteans; there are different races that have migrated to the land of promises and dreams. The immigrants either come to the Gallente Federation as they look to live with freedom that was unheard of in their home lands or come with hopes of a brighter future economically. Both objectives can be achieved here if the individuals are willing hard workers. The free society means that anyone can climb to the very top of the ladder in the Gallente Federation if he sets his heart to it.
The thing most often forgotten is the fact that there is a large majority of Gallenteans suffering in the pits of poverty in the land of promise. The non interference policy of the Gallenteans leaves open the door for people to fail in their ventures, there is no Government provisions to help those people out. But many still believe that the risk is worth taking.
An attractive aspect of the Gallente Federation is its leisure industry, even as the majority of the population remains dumb struck with poverty the demand for leisure items and the entertainment industry are booming. The Gallentean world is never asleep!
Their high profile (read nosy) lifestyle means each nation has a definite opinion about them. The Caldaris have perhaps seen the worst of the Gallenteans. When the Gallentean Empire was originally formed the Caldaris were a part of the Federation, but the Gallente and the Caldari nations could not overcome their differences and it all resulted in a civil war which ended with no clear winner. The Caldari Corporations formed their own Empire. Though even now, the Caldari Prime area remains under Gallante control. Therefore, to no ones surprise, the two nations are at best cold towards each other.
The Amarr Empire is seen as a threat to Eve's peace by the Gallenteans. Amarrian practice of slave driving is something that means they are never in the good books of the Gallenteans. Plus the level of trust between the two empires can be gauged by the fact that the Caldaris and the Gallenteans signed their peace accord only after the Amarr Empire showed up on the horizon; they didn't trust them enough to remain engaged in battle with their rebels with the Amarr threat as a possibility. The proceeding war between the two did nothing positive to improve the ties.
Quite a few Minatare have take refuge in the Gallente Federation. To add to that, the Gallente Federation has supported the Minmatar cause for freedom from the Amarr through thick and thin. Where this support has adversely affected the Amarr- Gallente relations, the Gallenteans are held in extremely high regard by the Minmatars
